Nordmeccanica keeps bringing innovation to the industry. The Company that marked the route to high performances and high quality in coating and lamination recently received a significant recognition for technological development. During a ceremony held at ICE USA 2017 in Orlando, Florida, Nordmeccanica was presented by AIMCAL the US based International Association of Metallizers Coaters and Laminators the “Technology of the Year” award.
The award is intended to address the most significant development in the field of Metallization, Coating ad Lamination. The 2017 award was presented to both Nordmeccanica for “Duplex SL One Shot™” and to Dow for Symbiex™ adhesive. Duplex SL One Shot™ is the innovative laminator presented by Nordmeccanica in cooperation with Dow at Drupa 2016. Duplex SL One Shot, once used in combination with Symbiex™, allows for unprecedented efficiency, savings and process simplification in the conversation of Solvent Less adhesives laminated compounds.

Nordmeccanica with deep regrets announces that one of our family members, Steven Frank "Steve" Lekan age 65 of Kennesaw passed away Sunday, November 29, 2015.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio to Frank John and Luella Lekan. Steve was in Printing and Converting Equipment Sales most of his life. Since 2006 he worked for Nordmeccanica. He was a loving husband, great dad an extraordinary professional and a friend to everyone. He was an active member and held several positions at American Legion Post 304 in Acworth. Some of his favorite passions includes riding his 1965 Harley Davidson Panhead, going to the NHRA sponsored drag races with his son, partying/socializing with friends, reading Dean Koontz, tinkering in his garage and going to Dixie Speedway with his family. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church.
This is a great loss to the entire printing and converting community.

During the Pack Expo Show, Las Vegas, NV, in the United States of America, Nordmeccanica has operated for the duration of the show at the Henkel booth a Super Simplex solvent less laminator. Machine, sold to Garlock Printing and Converting, a leading US converter, has demonstrated solid and reliable performances in multiple daily demonstration runs. Pack Expo, resulted in a very successful show for Nordmeccanica, fully confirming the growing trend of the flexible packaging industry in 2015. Multiple orders have been signed at the show with converters coming from 3 different continents.

The Open House at Nordmeccanica Vacuum was definitely a total success. During the 4 days of the event over 200 guests from 4 continents enjoyed official presentation of the entirely redesigned line of Vacuum metallizers. The event proposed the demonstration of a PowerMet 2.9 m (115”) wide metallizer, sold to the Italian leading converter Manucor. A second demonstration featured the deposition of AlOx (aluminum oxide) on a PET film on a 1300mm ( 51”) wide metallizer. Each day was concluded with a visit to the coating lamination division of Nordmeccanica for a seminar on barrier coating and a demonstration of thin foil lamination. The lamination demonstration featured a 5 micron foil (.000196”)provided by Hydro laminated to printed PET for those customers interested in lamination.
The newly redesigned family of Vacuum metallizers is engineered for incredibly fast production cycles and top of the industry output. The new design incorporates innovative solutions allowing for unsurpassed ergonomics, ease of use, scrap reduction and energy savings. The new product line has been designed in accordance to the Nordmeccanica group technological guidelines. Additional custom demonstrations are available upon request.

On June 2nd in Hauppauge, NY, with the presence of over 120 guests, Nordmeccanica opened doors at the new, larger location of its American subsidiary Nordmeccanica NA. Vincenzo Cerciello, President Nordmeccanica NA, Alfredo Cerciello Financial Director for the Nordmeccanica Group and Giancarlo Caimmi, Commercial Director Nordmeccanica Group hosted the Ceremony. The President of the Nordmeccanica Group, Antonio Cerciello sent a personal message to all attendees expressing his gratitude to participants. The presence of Patrizio Vecchio, town supervisor in Smithtown, the municipality that includes Hauppauge, gave to the Ceremony the imprimatur of the appreciation of the local community at the highest representative level. Dr. Maurizio Forte, USA responsible for ICE, has represented Italian authorities.
Nordmeccanica NA is responsible for sales and after sales service in the US and Canada and extends territory responsibility to Mexico through a qualified agency. Nordmeccanica NA has been operative in North America for over 15 years and the growing number of machines installed, in one with the impressive market share, required the Company to move into a new location with larger inventory for spare parts and expanded office space to better serve and support its customers.
A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony officially opened the event. Participants included representatives from a large number of Companies served by Nordmeccanica in North America, coast to coast. List of attendees included as well a large number of technical partners of Nordmeccanica. The program included a demonstration of the superior technical capabilities of Nordmeccanica technology with the lamination of a structure that included the thinnest aluminum foil ever converted in adhesive lamination. A technical conference targeting the handling of thin aluminum foil and metallized webs in adhesive lamination, concluded the event. The conference featured papers presented by Vincenzo Cerciello and Giancarlo Caimmi for Nordmeccanica, and received the Academic enlightening granted by the paper given by Dr. Duncan Darby of Clemson University, Packaging Science Department, about foil handling. Conference proceedings are available upon request.

Nordmeccanica Group is pleased to announce the official launch of the Powermet range of Vacuum Metallizing machinery at a special Open House Event in early July 2015.
The Powermet has been specifically designed for customers with high output demands and is available in widths from 2.5 through 3.6 meters.
With industry leading performance as well as innovative modular design, the Powermet range will also offer flexibility as well as output.
Nordmeccanica will host the Open House the 7th through the 10th of July.
The program will feature:
- Live performance runs of a 2.9 m wide Powermet.
- Live performance runs of a 1.2 m wide Nordmet with the latest AlOx module.
- Tour of the new facility.
The full commercial and technical teams will be on hand to discuss any questions that may arise from the demonstration.
To complete the rich program, at the nearby Coating and Lamination division of Nordmeccanica, will be featured a full demonstration of Bi-Lacquering Coating; Specialty Coatings and a Lamination demonstration of PET to 5 micron foil.
